The Campaign

$2 Million Campaign Goal

Much of the funding for the new Stetson Library is already in place. Major construction costs, project management and design for the building and interiors are part of the larger Q House project, covered by state and city funds. In 2015, the Connecticut State Library approved a $1 million state bond for the Stetson project, recognizing the crucial role this new library will play in the New Haven community.

Existing funding provides the "bones" of the new facility, but we need the support of the community to supply Stetson Library with all the resources it needs to become a destination of learning and discovery.

The Board of Directors of the New Haven Free Public Library and the New Haven Free Public Library Foundation have set an ambitious goal: $2 million to purchase upgraded technology, furniture, equipment and collection materials needed to re-open Stetson at its new home in the Q House. A portion of the campaign funds will support the New Haven Free Public Library's endowment and help secure the future of our library system for generations to come.
